Wardour #Creative - Week 29

by Wardour – Jul 22, 2021

A secure future for finance
The June 2021 edition of The Review, which we produce for the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, took a close look at global financial crime and the impact it has across financial markets. We also featured an interview with Tony Danker, the new director-general of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). In one of his first interviews since assuming the role, Danker discusses the CBI’s ten-year plan. An ever, our art director Steve Gibbon managed to secure a brilliant cover illustration, this time from acclaimed illustrator Noma Bar. Bar is a pioneering artist, known for his intelligent use of negative space, and it was fantastic to be able to work with him on this issue.

Resilience in retail
Elsewhere, we shot a video case study with the CEO of online fashion retailer ASOS, who explained how EY's Reshaping Results team had helped the company to unlock value and build resilience for the future. The interview was filmed at ASOS's London HQ earlier this year (under strictly controlled, socially distanced conditions), and it was fascinating to hear how ASOS has progressed as a business in recent years.

Getting ahead
Inside Wardour, we recently recorded another webinar – this time offering insight and advice on search engine optimisation. Content Director Andrew Strange gave some fantastic tips into on how organisations can drive traffic to their website. We’ll be launching the video soon, but if improving your SEO is something you are interested in, please get in touch.

Gongs galore
We’ve also attended our first in-person awards ceremony since the global pandemic reared its ugly head. Content Director Tim Turner was in attendance and said it certainly felt like a sign of things returning to normal: “Apart from the novelty of travelling to the City (the ceremony took place in a hotel near St Paul’s), it was nice to have an excuse to wear a suit, a smart shirt and shiny shoes after 15 months spent almost entirely in T-shirts, jeans and trainers.”

Better yet, we took home a series of Gold, Silver and Highly Commended trophies for our work with the British Heart Foundation, EY, Deutsche Bank, London Stock Exchange Group and Legal & General. A huge well done and thank you to everyone involved in these projects.

Lights, camera, action
Finally, if you are thinking about creating more film and video content the please join the Global Voices team on Wednesday, 11th August for an interactive discussion about the role of video strategy in content marketing. We will be joined by agency leaders Martin MacConnol, Jacqueline Loch, Andy Seibert, Munni Trivedi and Lars-Petter Steen who will share their global insight into the power of video content to engage with both B2B and B2C audiences.
